Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know? Well maybe not, but we try hard to anticipate your questions.

Q: How do I host my video?

Answer: See this helpful explanation of your three options. You can evaluate them and choose the one that is most cost effective for you.

Q: Your prices seem very reasonable - what's the catch?

Answer: None! We are very efficient and produce broadcast quality work at a fair price. Please see our examples for an indication of the quality of our product.

Q: We signed up for a video - now what?

Answer: We obviously have a lot of practice at making videos and are used to dealing with most of the issues that arise. Click here to read a brief summary of our process that will help you understand how we work.

Q: Are there any "extras" or hidden costs?

Answer: No we like to have an understandable pre-defined cost for both you and us. However to be flexible we will alter your video to reflect changing needs or additional scenes that you add after the contract is signed. We carefully define what we will do for you on our contract (in plain English). We do charge for multiple location s, travel costs, reshoots, animations, custom music and extensive graphic or editing work. These charges are always identified in advance and don't apply in the majority of cases.

Q: Are these really broadcast quality and what does that mean?

Answer: We shoot as if every video is going to be broadcast in HD on TV. This means that you get the flexibility of having several different video formats including a DVD if you need it. Please see our examples for an indication of the quality of our product.

Q: Who does the actual video?

Answer: Our own staff. We have videographers, editors and directors who manage the production process. In the event of us needing extra help (for example a multi-camera shoot in a remote location) we will sometimes work with hired camera crews. We only use qualified, experienced and Real Cool TV trained staff. Our editors make sure that you video meets both our exacting requirements and your standards, no matter who shoots the video.

Q: I am a bit nervous about being filmed and not sure of my message - what now?

Answer: Our goal is to make you happy with your video and to have you come back for more. We will coach you as we film and have several techniques to make it easier for you and to overcome nerves. Our experienced producers are business people, who ask the right questions and make sure that your message is captured in the video. Part of our process is to call you and discuss your messaging before the shoot, so we are all comfortable.

Q: What the situation on copyright, is the video mine?

Answer: We own the copyright to our work. We transfer the use of the video to you and you can do what you like with it - provided that you don't remove our copyright mark from the end of the video. If you wish to aquire the sole rights to the production we can arrange that for a reasonable fee.

Q: Why do you want me to sign a model release?

Answer: The release, which is simple and in plain English is to protect us both. It basically states that you are authorized to make the video and what we are shooting is included in that authorization. We ask staff who play more that a passing role to also sign. If they leave your company and start work for your competition that might otherwise cause a problem.

Q: I want you to film my customers, why wont you do this?

Answer: Customers in restaurants, shops and other places have an implied right to privacy. Our experience is that we can either plant a customer or have one of your staff be at a table, counter or wherever. This avoids the hassle and problems associated with getting release forms form everyone in a video. We do shoot "wide" and distant views of crowds avoiding specific individuals for atmosphere and background. This does not require releases. It is probably best to assume that you can't include the general public in your video.
